President's Message

Happy New Year!

We hope that each of you has enjoyed  a wonderful holiday season and is ready to meet all the pent up demand for rooms and services we KNOW is headed San Diego's way.

For 2010 we've got a slate of monthly programs designed to answer your requests for education, networking and fun.  We appreciate the feedback you've taken the time to give.  In return we've used it to help define meeting topics for the next twelve months.  Here's what's in the offing for a fun and rewarding year:

  • Jan 13 - Sales Strategist in Today's Market by Michele Josef of Master Connections
  • Feb 25 - Gold Key Awards by HMA and HSMAI
  • March 16 - Networking and Prospective Member Mixer
  • April - Sales Focused Educational Program
  • May -  Chinese Auction Fundraiser- Always a good time!
  • June - Networking and Prospective Member Mixer
  • July -  "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" - think Padres Baseball!!
  • Aug - All Industry Cruise
  • Sept - HSMAI All California Education Conference in Orange County
  • Oct - Inside the Hospitality Studio
  • Nov - Star Follies Fundraiser - The Follies Are Back To Stay!!
  • Dec 1 - Assistants Appreciation Luncheon

Our goal for 2010 is to have useful meetings that are both a good value and are easy to attend.  Education-wise, the subject matter is intended to yield immediate benefit - tools you can use as soon as you get back to the office.   But we need a little fun too . . . so our networking events will afford you the opportunity to interact with your friends and colleagues at fun and inspiring venues.

And so that we as a Chapter can continue to give back to our community and our industry, our two most popular fundraisers - Chinese Auction and Star Follies are back by popular demand.  So save those quarters for May's Chinese Auction, and start thinking "lip-sync" for November's Star Follies!  Both events promise to be real barn-burners!

Thanks for your continued support.  It means that HSMAI San Diego can continue to be a key part of our local Hospitality Industry.

2010 LogoHere's to a healthful and prosperous 2010 for each of you!
