PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Hello everyone, It is a pleasure to extend greetings to you as I begin my term as president of HSMAI Boston Chapter. I am very excited to start this journey with HSMAI, and I’m looking forward to a brilliant future with wonderful programming and social events in the next year. As your new president, I’ll present some personal challenges that I would like to see our Board achieve in the coming year. These objectives include upholding HSMAI’s mission Statement which is to be the leading source for sales and marketing information, knowledge, business development, and networking for professionals in tourism, travel, and hospitality. Ultimately, our goal is to have members walking away with the ability to face their everyday challenges with more confidence and coming back for more. By banding together each one of us will grow in our profession and become effective in the increasingly demanding industry of Hospitality Sales and Marketing. I encourage all of you to attend our monthly meetings and events. We will work hard at planning speakers on hot topics, arranging networking opportunities, and exploring avenues to foster personal and economic development. We continue to seek new memberships, and cherish our current membership. Membership will be the key to the success of our chapter, I challenge all our members to bring in a new member and allow them to share in our love of hospitality, creativity and professionalism. Did I mention fun? Oh, yes, lots of fun as well. As the in-coming president, I see one of my major roles is as a facilitator of the members’ needs. This being noted, we are very open to listening to our members and what their needs are. This will help further our organization and its upcoming programs. Please know that I’m hoping that each and every one of you will send us your ideas, thoughts, and suggestions for improvement for the organization. We are always looking for members to help fill certain key positions on our existing committees. I’m hoping that if you are interested and have a great vision for the organization, you’ll contact me and based on your passion and expertise, we’ll help you find a great position. This is a terrific way to meet other members, but more importantly, help shape the path of the HSMAI organization. I look forward to personally meeting all our members and welcoming our new members at these exciting upcoming events. I would like to thank each of you for allowing me the honor of serving as HSMAI Boston’s president this upcoming year. I hope to make you all proud of your selection. Best Regards,
Lisa Tiernan
